Time for Burris to Resign

How can Senator Burris be allowed to continue as Senator after he today admitted that he basically misled everyone. This administration is starting to make President Clinton’s look clean. In less than three weeks there has been over 1/2 dozen appointments that have had some sort of serious ethical issues. This is Chicago politics in full force. I guess we better learn to deal with it because this seems to be what the status quo will be for at least the next four years.

Another one bites the dust!!!

So this is how the most ethical and clean administration of all-time is going to look? How many Obama appointments will it take for the American people to wake up and realize that this President is no different than any other one. Having one nominee run into issues with taxes is excusable, but THREE!!! And one of them is running the IRS. If this would have been you or I that had did this, some how I think we would be in a little more trouble than what these three are facing. Ladies and Gentlemen this is Chicago Machine Politics at work, and the sooner we realize it, the fast we can get over our fantasy of the Great Obama saving us all.

Hopefully now that some of the shine has been tarnished off of the Obama administration Republicans in the Senate will follow their peers in the House and stand united against an administration that has yet to give us any real answers to our nations problems.

Good Bye 2008, Look out for 2009.

History will look back at 2008 as one of the most historic years in our nations history. It was a year that saw the United States go through many changes and face many challenges. At the international level this maybe the year where we look back as a nation and say this was the year that signaled the beginning of the end of the United States as the lone world super power.

Looking back I can see this being the case for several reasons. The first reason is the inability of the United States to effectively keep Iran in check. Iran with its nuclear ambitions has continued to move forward with little or no resistance from the international community. Russia has stepped up to become a relevant power again. While there economy is hurting again like everyone else’s they have taken advantage of the high oil prices over the last few years and have used that money to reinvest in their military. Russia has flexed their muscle in places like Georgia and has also sent war ships to the Western Hemisphere for the first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis to have military exercises with Venezuela. While it appears our government has stood by and watched this with little or no response.

Even our traditional spheres of influence such as Latin and South America seem to be waning. These countries have increasingly fallen into the hands of socialist leaders.

While there is no doubt that the war in Iraq has alienated many of our allies that traditionally take a passive view to resolving conflict and take a reactionary view to defense, I think there has been a fundamental shift in world view of the United States. There are many factors including, ineffective polices, a government that actively sought to undermine the President, and a national media that had its own agenda to shape America rather than just reporting the news.

We also have to recognize that we took an important step as a nation when it came to politics. For the first time ever we had both an African-American and a woman as a viable candidates for the office of the President of the United States, and further more we elected the first African- American as President of the United States. No matter what you political party affiliation is, one has to agree that this was truly an historic moment in our nations history.

With that said though we may look back at 2008 as the year we began as a nation the move toward socialism. We have bailed out our finance sector along with our auto industry and we have done this with little oversight. President Bush has even acknowledge that while he believes in a free market economy that he was willing to jump into a little socialism to save these companies. And we have elected what is widely acknowledge as the most liberal President in American history who has been quoted in saying such things as “spread the wealth”, and that he wants universal health care; which gives us a dangerous combanation of factors pulling us toward a European socialist type of government.

This year was one of the most challenging years of my generation because ofthe state of the economy, and the collapse of the sub-prime leading market that lead to millions of people losing their homes. The stock market lost over 25% of its value and all of us lost money in our 401k’s. Companies that we thought would never close collapsed under the weight of greed and poor management. We also saw gas shoot as high as $4 a gallon and come crashing back down to $1.50 a gallon in the course of a few short months. We all have been touched in a negative way by the events over the last year.

While 2008, feel will be looked at as an historic year; I feel that 2009 will go down as a turning point for our nation. Will we willingly and blindly as a nation let our media, our leaders, and government takes us down the road of socialism? Or this will this be the year we begin to revolt as people and begin to take back our nation and hold our governments responsible for their actions. I am hoping that with the negative reactions to the government bailouts, and the slow realization by many that Obama is just another politician that we may have hit rock bottom as a nation and that the people will take back our government.

There are many issues that need to be resolved in the coming year. We live in the most challenging times that have faced this nation in decades. We the people can no longer take a passive stance like most of our politicians when it comes to solving our nations problems. We must rise up and come together as people to find a balance between dealing with international affairs and fixing our problems at  domestically. We must be willing to make sacrifices and in turn we must demand our government  make the same sacrifices without raising our taxes. Tough choices must be made and we need to demand our leaders make the choices or leave office. If we don’t 2009 maybe known as the year Socialism began in the United States of America.

Merry Christmas Senator Clinton!!

Well Barack Obama has sealed the deal and named Senator Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. So much for change!!! Why does Obama keep on nominating former Clinton staff  members and now a Clinton to positions in government? I thought he had something new to bring to Washington. He is recycling the same old garbage that we already have had. If there is anything that we can learn from the Clinton years, it is that he was weak on many things including in foreign affairs which after what happened in Mumbia, India should wake us up to the real dangers we face and who we have in key places when it comes to National Security.

Before all of you hard core kool-aid drinking liberals go ballistic about what I just said keep in mind the debacle in Somalia,( Think the movie Blackhawk down for those of you that lack knowledge of history unless Hollywood gives it to you). Or how about all of the attacks on U.S. interest abroad without a response during the Clinton years. Now we get more of the same Clinton policies for at least another four years. O what fun, I love this kind of change, even if you are a Democrat you have to scratch your head and wonder how is this any different than what Hillary would have done. (Well one thing would be different Obama would still be a Senator because Hillary would never had appointed him to any post.) It kinda reminds me of the movie Back to the Future, except the Obama doesn’t realize you can’t really go back to the past and change people.Does that mean that Hillary is going to be the same way she has always been and put her career before her Country , I don’t know, but in this day and age can we afford to wonder?

Whatever happened to new ideas, new vision, and new leadership? I guess that was just another stump speech with no meaning. Here is what I think happened way back in late May and June and the more I watch the more I believe its true. Hillary made a deal with Obama that she would drop her bid for the nomination if she could have control of his nominations and become Secretary of State. Kinda reminds you of the deal our buddy Putin has in Russia?

Now before you guys all say that I am crazy look at what is happening. Do you see any changes in Washington as far what Democrats are being nominated for leadership posts. Not one is a new up and coming Democrat. Most are former Clinton Staff members or senior Senators. Even Joe Biden you could argue was not a person that you would expect Obama to pick. Ted Strickland from Ohio or Bill Richardson from New Mexico would have been a better choice. But to be fair thank God, literally, that Biden isn’t Secretary of State, he would have made Madeline Albright look like a genius at that post.

Obama picks have been nothing more than a rehash of the Clinton Administration. Know for those of you that were hoping for change, I guess it was just from Republican to Democrat because other than that it is going to be business as usual in Washington. Hopefully that will be enough to break the stalemate of the Washington and is constant political grandstanding. I doubt it, Obama is not bringing anything new to the table. He just can communicate very well. He appears to be the rich mans version of Jimmy Carter.

Deals are done all the time in politics. Is there proof that this is another one of those deals? I don’t have any, but it sure appears that something is going on. Their is no doubt that Obama needed a lot of political help to get where he is today, and for him to be able to have Hillary give up what many will say was something she was working for since the day Bill left office if not before means that something had to have happened and deals had to have been made.

So much for change in Washington. Looks like the next four years are going to look a lot like the last eight. A whole lot of talk by the President, a whole lot of nothing from Congress, and a whole of BS from the liberal media about how great Obama and the Democrats are, well that part won’t be the same, President Bush could have turned into a liberal and the media would still be out to get him.

Well Merry Christmas Senator Clinton, you may have made out better than most will give you credit for. Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve next.

How low can you go Obama?

I know we have been having this discussion about Obama’s tax plan on the comments sections on my previous blogs, but I want to put this out on the for front for discussion, Obama has now gone from defining middle-class as anyone making over $250,000 and has progressively shrunk that total to now $120,000 as commented by Gov. Bill Richardson of NM. I wonder what it will be after he realizes he can’t afford all of his social programs?
