Change in Washington? No He is Not!!!
I find it quite funny that after all of President Elect Obama promises about how he is going to change Washington and now it looks like we are going to have a third term of the Clinton Administration. I guess Barack forgot that he ran on how he was going to change Washington. Or maybe what he meant by change was that he was going to take the Democratic Congressman and Senators and promote them to Cabinet Level positions. That must have been the change he meant.
Seriously, he is already is going to be perceived as weak and untested throughout the world, but now he is going back on his word to the American people and not “shaking up” Washington like he said. For example, what better choice than John McCain for his first Secretary of State. He has instant credibility throughout the world, and on top of that from Obama’s perspective he is not a Conservative. Also why not find a place for a man like Joe Lieberman in has Cabinet. He is a man that was willing to stand-up against his party when they tried to railroad him and even stood up against his party and endorsed McCain. How about that for a change,it would a great change to have good people in positions that may disagree with you.Talk about saying no longer will it be poltics as usual. Plus there are many better Democratic choices out their but it appears he is going to rehash the same old people.
Do I expect him to live up to all of his promises, no not even close no President does. But I did think after he said he would bring this country together and have both Democrats and Republicans in his Cabinet that just maybe he would at least live up to that. I don’t even expect him to make it close to an even split but nominating at least one or two Republicans would go a long way to his image of being a person that will change Washington.
Unfortunately ,I think that this is a sign of things to come over the next four years. There will be no change. He is just like every other politician in Washington. And it appears he must owe the Clinton’s a lot to be nominating and hiring who he is. Hopefully he will begin to lead and shape his own administration his own way. If not I think our country will suffer greatly from what I predict will be major infighting within the Democratic Party and bad policies. We can’t afford either at this time, what we need is truly a leader in this country that will put their country above their party. Many voted for Obama because of that promise. I fear that many will be disappointed, and that our nation will suffer with their being no true change in Washington.

Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State? She should have been his VP candidate! But even so…how would that be any better? I agree with you…John McCain should have been selected as Secretary of State. There really isn’t anyone better.
I liked Hillary with Bill in the White House when she was fighting for Universal Healthcare coverage. When she was bought out by the Health Care industry, I lost ALL respect I had for her. She’s just another Washington politician.
Obama’s health care plan is the same recycled plan that Hillary used while promoting Universal Health Care. I am a firm believer and supporter of Universal Health Care coverage (despite some of my arguments before), and while I wish it would be passed and put into operation, it in all likelihood will not. There are too many health care lobbyists in Washington. President Bush is a prime example of one. The health care industry is paying millions to these politicians to keep their mouths shut and promote private health care coverage. This all dates back to Richard Nixon. Private health care ONLY promotes less coverage for increased profits. That’s simply all the companies care about. Medical Directors are considered good for how many claims they can deny coverage for. They are expected to den 10% of claims or more. It’s flat-out ridiculous, and all of Washington should be ashamed for the blood they have on their hands because of this.
Sorry I went on a rampage there about Health care…I could probably go all day on it. But nonetheless, I am anxious to see if Obama can jump start this economy. I wish different decisions would have been made, but that’s in the past. We have to look forward for now. Like I’ve said before…all we can do is “hope.”

You’re right on with this post. Obama is a little boy being pulled by the most liberal members of the Democratic Party.
He is not about change because he says and does anything that his party does (very obvious during the election) – and that won’t bring any change, just bad policies.

Man, at least you gave the guy a chance…. He’s like -60 days in office and already he’s labeled someone who hasn’t and will never bring change as well as a promise breaker. Ok, sure he’ll break promises – as you said, they all do. But let’s be serious for a moment. Is this what you call change: nominating people to his cabinet that he fundamentally disagrees with on so many issues or joe libermann, a guy who nobody is quite sure where he stands. Maybe we can at least let him actually finish picking his cabinet before the rampant criticism begins.
I’m not saying he should be exempt from criticism, as a matter of fact he should and will be put under the finest microscope ever considering where our country is. But posts like these just come off as looking for an excuse to rag on a guy.
On thing I agree with you on – most people who voted for Obama will be disappointed. He’s not completely absolved from this, but frankly he’s got expectations he can’t live up to in my opinion. Also, I think liberals are going to find out he’ll be a bit more moderate for their taste

I think the biggest disappointment is that he said he was going to fundementally change Washington. Whether you vote for him or not that is a very interesting prospect. All he has done has brought in Clinton retrends. Even though I would have loved to see him bring in some Republicans but that I know was wishful thinking. How about though bringing in new Democratics at the very least. It is looking alot like he is Clinton’s puppet.
